April 10 — Brown Bag Discussion with…Sanford Zale

“Long Live Denis Diderot”

With Dr. Sanford Zale, Core division
Where and when: Morgan Room, Aiken Hall, 12:30 p.m.

About this discussion: In honor of the tercentenary of his birth, Sanford Zale will argue, in five parts — introduction, narration, proofs, refutation, peroration — that the French Enlightenment intellectual Denis Diderot (1713-1784) wanted to be and was our friend, and that we, too, should be his.

March is Women's History Month

March is a great month. We are getting ready for Spring, and celebrating women in history! We have created a great display of books about women, from Cleopatra to Rosa Parks to Sonia Sotomayor. We will also have pins to give away with pictures of women on them.Check out the Women's History Project website for more resources.
